We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, Chicago-based Web Developer. This key position is responsible for development of Putmans customer facing and internal websites. The Developer works closely with the marketing team and branding experts to ensure that a website conveys a consistent image; with the design team to create the look and feel of the sites; with Publishers to develop website character; with Digital Editors to help ensure presentation and content consistency.
The principal responsibilities are to: apply best practices to website development, design website architecture, create graphics, develop and deploy new websites, and modifying existing websites.

Requirements:
Qualified candidates will possess: minimum of three years professional web development experience; strong HTML, DHTML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, CSS, XML, XSL, AJAX, JSON, jQuery; strong interactive UI development skills strong object oriented language skills strong MVC design pattern skills user interface accessibility and usability skills; familiarity of cross-browser compatibility issues; familiarity with Adobe Publish and Drupal a plus; experience writing web services a plus
